Special Degree of Bachelor of Arts, Honours Second Class (Division One) in Combined Languages (French, German, Spanish) with Distinction in Oral German

University of Salford (2002)

MA in Translating with Distinction

Institute of Translation and Interpreting (2009)

Having passed the entrance examination in 2009, I am a fully qualified member of the ITI.

Professional Experience
January 2002 – December 2004

In-house Translator/Checker, Leamington Spa

Key responsibilities:

  • Revising translations produced by freelance translators
  • Translating from German and French into English
  • In charge of editing and updating in-house work instructions
December 2004 – September 2012

Senior Translator, Greater Manchester

Key responsibilities:

  • Translating from German and French into English
  • Revising work produced by other members of the team and providing detailed feedback
  • Helping to ensure that all translation work was undertaken and delivered in a cost-effective and timely fashion to predefined quality criteria
  • Involvement in recruitment of new staff and responsibility for subsequent training
  • Handling customer enquiries and scheduling work in the Director's absence
